What is Ignition™?
The Ignition™ program is a digital literacy program for 8th-10th grade students. While generally facilitated by teachers in a classroom setting, the 3-4-hour curriculum is web-based and is designed for students to complete individually and at their own pace.
In a highly interactive, virtual community, student users learn digital literacy and responsibility concepts in seven different content areas (e.g., Internet safety and responsibility, cyberullying, etc). Each module of the virtual town includes activities and assessments that help build students’ skill sets for making good decisions with technology. Interactive activities place students in real life situations that address some of the most pressing issues faced by teens, such as online privacy and security, cyberbullying, digital relationships, and digital addiction. Concepts are presented in age-appropriate and relevant contexts that students can apply to their own lives.
